OBJECT NO.13
by Takaaki Kosaka
Born in Hokkaido in 1960, Takaaki Kosaka draws on decades of experience blending traditional Japanese craftsmanship with modern design. After returning from San Francisco in 1990, he engaged in design advocacy and opened Modern Age Gallery in Tokyo, focusing on mid-century design, followed by MEISTER, where he created original works that elevated traditional techniques into contemporary forms.
Kosaka has supervised notable exhibitions, including the Eames Design Exhibition, and since 2015 has produced abstract engravings under the series Objects 011. Returning to Hokkaido in 2018, he continues to explore design and craft through writing and art. His work captures a refined balance of tradition and modernity, making each piece both thoughtful and timeless.
