MAZER SIDE TABLE - ONYX
by Tom Fereday
A sculptural expression of material and form, the Mazer table by Tom Fereday explores the inherent tension between geometry and nature.
Defined by its monolithic presence, the piece is carved with precise, brutalist intent its solid form punctuated by softened, organic voids that reveal the depth and character of the stone. In White Onyx, the work takes on a more luminous quality; subtle translucency allows light to move through the material, accentuating its layered veining and quiet tonal shifts.
Each table is shaped from a single block of stone, embracing the unpredictability of natural formation. Delicate striations of ivory, cream, and pale gold emerge across the surface, ensuring no two pieces are alike. The polished finish enhances the stone’s inherent glow, giving the work a sense of quiet radiance within a space.
Part of the broader Mazer series, the table sits at the intersection of furniture and sculpture anchoring interiors through both weight and lightness, solidity and permeability. The result is a piece that feels at once ancient and contemporary.
